In the spring of 1978 I attended an art exhibition and concert offered by Indian Yogi Sri Chinmoy at Harvard University. Sri Chinmoy's paintings, which he calls Fountain Art, or Jharna Kala in Bengali, had an immediate and profound impact on me. As a then student of art and design, I felt that I was experiencing something totally new, refreshing and uplifting.
Since then I've come to appreciate how deeply the perception of color and form in art can effect our state of consciousness and well being. Inspired by these works I began seeking to find within myself that space from which uplifting art originates.
This site is a way of sharing cheerful inspiring "art for the soul" from many of the worlds great artists including the aspiring paintings and drawings of Sri Chinmoy.
